Mine facilities construction at Dome Mountain Project

Construction has begun on necessary facilities to enable start-up of mine operations.

Work on the sedimentation pond began with removal and stockpiling of organic overburden in August. Cut and fill earthworks and compacting of material proceeded from September 1 to October 8. The sedimentation pond will collect water draining from the 1290 Level Underground Portal, for processing in the water treatment plant.

Realignment of part of the mine access road began with clearing from October 26 to 31. Road grade construction began on November 1. This 1.5 kilometre section will avoid two steep switchbacks and improve winter access (Figure 1). It will also bypass the site of the potential tailings pond, which is crossed by the current road.
